Synopsis
A love story adapting Banana Yoshimoto’s early masterpiece “Moonlight Shadow,” starring Nana Komatsu. Satsuki and Hitoshi meet as if drawn together and fall in love. Along with Hitoshi’s three-years-younger brother Hiiragi and Hiiragi’s girlfriend Yumiko, the four grow close and spend much time together. At times they even talk about the mysterious “Moonshadow Phenomenon,” a rumor that “on the night of a full moon’s end, you might be able to see the dead once more.” Their days are calm and happy—until one day, Hitoshi and Yumiko die. Crushed by the sudden loss, Satsuki and Hiiragi are left in grief. Satsuki cannot accept the reality of losing the one she loves, and Hiiragi worries for her. As they each try to face their sorrow in their own way, they meet a mysterious woman named Rei, and—little by little—begin to find their way back to everyday life…
