- MALAYSIAN-JAPANESE CO-PRODUCTION DIRECTED BY EDMUND YEO, WINNER OF THE BEST DIRECTOR AWARD AT THE 30TH TOKYO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (2017) FOR AQERAT: THE ROGHINGYA'S HARVEST. Under the shadow of their mentally ill mother, sisters Lan and Hong parted ways in their childhood. Twenty years later, they reunite after their mother’s death and begin living together again. One morning, Hong wakes up to find Lan gone. Years later, news arrives that Lan’s body has been found in Japan. Hong abandons her job and family to travel there in search of the truth… The leading roles of the sisters are played by Malaysian actors Theorin Theo and Meijun Tan, with Masatoshi Nagase and Kiko Mizuhara joining from Japan. The film’s music is composed by Haruomi Hosono.
